1976 vw bus westphalia camper all original un-restored good condition.
I am selling my vw bus,  I  had high hopes of restoring this and using again but it is just one of those projects that is out of my league. This bus is all original and is very clean underside with little rust. The frame and floor panels are in great shape given a vw this old. These are very hard to find in this condition. It should be a fun project for someone who has the time and money to put in. It came up from n. Carolina originally and was never driven in the upstate winters. It was running and last on the road in 2001 and then it was parked. It was started a couple of times a year, moved around the yard until 2010 or so and then the battery would not start it any more. It has been sitting since then. I have pushed it around the yard from spot to spot but the engine has not been started since 2010. I was told by my mechanic not to start it at this point- as  I  might do damage to it. It really needs to be checked out before running again. It still is in very good shape but it does have some condition issues that will need to be addressed before it is put on the road. The major thing is that the front rubber windshield seal has corroded and the windshield has sort of sagged back into the cab. There has been some water damage around the edges and it has rusted quite a bit. I’m not sure how much work it will net to re-seat windshield with a new seal etc. Pretty much all of the rubber seals are cracked rubber and they will all need to be replaced. Also the pop up tent has rotted out on the sides and the rubber edge seal on the camper needs replacing. I’m not going to candy coat the condition of this vehicle, cosmetically it will need some tlc and further clean up. The door panels, carpet, seat fabric is all original and some have stains etc. This is a total restoration project. I am assuming that the brakes need to be done, the fuel system will need to be cleaned, oil and transaxle fluids need to be changed etc. The engine may even require some further maintenance or work. Like  I  said a total restoration at this point. That being said- body is pretty good. There are a few spots that are starting ti rust under rear passenger wheel and under front floor as seen in photos. The tranny is good, motor ran when parked and oil was changed shortly before that. Fuel stabilizer was put in tank there was only about ¼ tank of gas or so when parked. All original cushions top and bottom, all the glass is intact, frame and body very good. The tires are flat and will need replacing. It will need to be towed from my location. It will roll on front tires with back end lifted but the front tires are in poor condition so  I  would recommend a flat bed tow or trailer. I am aware of the current value of these un-restored westphalia campers and they are so hard to find in good shape any more. Fully restored these can fetch some huge dollars!!! I am asking $6000.00 for this old bus  I  know that there is some people out there who would love to restore this beauty. This is being sold in un-restored as is condition with no warranty or returns. I have a clean title and  I  would consider serious cash offers. Let me know if your interested in checking out. Sorry no trades.
Thanks for looking.
