!974 VW Westfalia camper. Like meeting people? Everybody wants to talk to you when you show up in this!
This van was in pretty good condition when I got it some years ago now and just about everything worked except the engine which had serious rod bearing problems. The only corrosion was in the battery trays, it has the house battery set up, 2 batteries, with minimal of surface rust, mainly on the driver’s side for some reason. The chassis and floor, front and back, were and are rust and corrosion free. All the chrome is original except the rear view mirrors from a later model.
Included are the original Westfalia, recovered, stool and the seat/storage box that sits between the front seats and an original tent. Even the heater blower works and produces heat
Paint, 2 part, single coat, epoxy primer
Tent, German made top of the line.
Pop top and luggage carrier seals
All window, hatch and door seals
Wiper blades, washer hoses and nozzles
Carpet, front and rear
Front seat padding and covers
Some of the laminate on the cabinets replaced with matching laminate
Rear marker lights
Front door reflectors
Plug wires, dist. cap, rotor arm and plugs.
Mechanical :-and new piston rings
Main, rod and camshaft bearings and all seals and gaskets
Brake system seals
Brake pads and shoes
Replaced aftermarket air filters with original spec. filter box and mounting
CV joints and boots
Sliding door rollers and hardware
The fridge works on both 12v and 120v, 2 burner cook top works
Brakes, lights and steering all work great and she starts right up with a charged battery
The rear cabinet was removed at some stage, probably to allow more sleeping room
The propane tank had to be removed for insurance purposes but is included
Small blemishes on the bodywork due the time it’s spent in the garage
The tires, though in good shape, need upgrading to higher rated tires
Transmission will jump out of reverse under load, sadly not an uncommon fault

Coming close to retirement, have a boat and another van to fix (or sell if anyone is interested in a project), and wife wants to park in the garage, very selfish. So this is my first attempt at letting the good people of the Atlanta area know that it’s available.
If you have questions please ask by e-mail initially to give me a chance to screen out the you know whos and the you know whats. Trying to be polite!!
Other van, by the way, 1976 Volkswagen Westphalia complete but disassembled from New Mexico, no rot anywhere, solid as a rock.
